Newport High Street Heritage Action Zone Privacy Notice

We take your privacy very seriously. If you choose to provide your name and email address The Isle of Wight Council will retain your details in order to communicate with you about the project. We may share your personal details with the project team but not with any other third parties.

What information we collect and what we use it for

We only collect your name and address if you decide to provide it with your submission. Your information is required to enable us to keep you up to date with the High Street Heritage Action Zone project or ask you for further views on the project. We require your consent to this processing, but you may withdraw your consent at any time. If you do not give your consent, or you subsequently withdraw your consent, we won’t be able to keep you informed about the project.

How we use your data

Your personal data will be processed by Create Community Mapping Ltd on our behalf. They provide the mapping tool where your information is entered. Your personal data will be processed by Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC) who provide or mailing list management service.

Your data will be held on computer and may be stored in a country outside of the UK. We will ensure that personal data will only be held within the European Economic Area or in a country with appropriate data protection legislation in place.

‘We will keep your details on our database until the end of the High Street Heritage Action Zone project (April 2024), unless you ask us to remove them.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
