Lichfield District Council is actively progressing the City Centre Master Plan to develop the area between Birmingham Road, St John Street and Frog Lane.

It is vital that we work with residents and businesses in the area, to co-create a plan and framework that will help us to create beautiful buildings and streets, new homes, incorporate trees and green spaces so that we can make central Lichfield a vibrant, exciting, interesting place to live, work and play.

The development is likely to include city centre housing, cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, and other leisure facilities.

We now need to understand what residents want from the design and feel of the city centre. Your opinion is essential to shape how this site will look and feel. Once we have your feedback we can engage with interested organisations, builders and city centre businesses who want to be a part of the new developments.

At this stage we want to understand what the right “feel” for the city centre might be. How should new buildings and streets “fit in”? What should they look like? What are your favourite and least favourite places in the city?
